Looking for car hire in the Mayenne? In a recent survey (Mayenne 53 Group for English Speakers Facebook Group) SuperU was a clear winner. With many branches throughout the department, group members found SuperU to be the best service, most choice and best availability. Most companies will require a large deposit before you can hire the car. This can be paid via cheque (not cashed unless damage is noted on the vehicle when it is returned) or by bank card (amount blocked but not withdrawn from your bank account). Most companies will accept international/non-French licences but all drivers must be named on the hire document. You will be given an opportunity to check the condition of the vehicle before you drive away; after which you will be asked to sign a document that shows any existing scratches, dints or other damage. IMPORTANT: The vehicle will be rigorously checked against this document when you return the car and you will be liable for repair costs of any new damage. Pay particular attention to the bodywork and tyre trims if you collect the vehicle whilst it is raining as raindrops can hide damage.
